AN IDEAL MOTOR PROTECTING SYSTEM

Modern induction motors tend to operate at higher temperatures continuously to give maximum power utilization. The net effect is that there is a fast rise of temperatures say of the order 10o C per second under overload conditions.Thus to achieve a compromise between minimum motor cost and its maximum life, a need for New Motor protecting Technique is felt which can offer the protection against overheating of Motor windings owing to overloading  (both sustained and momentary), Locked or stalled rotor, Variations in supply, Single phasing, Chocked ventilations, Faulty bearings and other mechanical over load conditions etc.

Conventional protection techniques are quite insufficient to provide the protection against all ardent conditions as mentioned above. New Concepts & Systems offers Thermistor tripping system to address this problem effectively. This Electronic overheat protection Unit when used along with the PTC Thermistors provides a built - in protection to electric motors by directly regulating the temperatures of windings. The Thermal Protection Unit is suitable for use in conjunction with PTC thermistors which have the total cold resistance value not exceeding 0.5 K Ohms when all connected in series. The Temperature dependant resistance curve must be within the parameters specified by IEC Draft.
